SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Three members of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's (UTRGV) women's outdoor track & field team completed the season Thursday at Hornet Stadium in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminary Round.
 
Graduate student Marlene Gutierrez finished 31^st in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 58.40 meters, which is the eighth-best throw in program history. In one outdoor season with the Vaqueros, Gutierrez set a program record in hammer with a throw of 62.03 meters and took ownership of seven of the top 10 throws in program history. 
 
Junior Aisha Gay clocked in at 54.10 to finish 38^th in the first round of the women's 400-meter dash with the seventh-fastest race in program history. She ends her outdoor season with a program record (53.30) and four of the 10 fastest times in the event. 
 
Freshman Rayja'nae Pettit was 46^th in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.16 meters.
