CORPUS CHRISTI – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis team capped the Jake Frederick Memorial Islander Open Sunday by securing two more draw titles, courtesy of senior Emilien Burnel and the doubles duo of sophomore McAllen Memorial alum Agustin Salazar and freshman Ivo Isqueiro.  
 
Salazar/Isqueiro won the Doubles Flight B to start the day. They defeated Ethan Scribner/Benjamin McDonald from Abilene Christian (ACU) 6-4 on Sunday to cap their 3-0 weekend in the draw in their first outing as a doubles team. 
 
Burnel won the Singles Flight A. He defeated Incarnate Word's Joao Sasso 6-3, 6-3 in the draw final, capping his unbeaten weekend with four combined wins as he won the top draws in singles and in doubles with junior Borna Devald. 
 
UTRGV finished the weekend with the Flight A and B titles in doubles, and the Flight A title in singles – an exciting way to open the fall season. The Vaqueros will be back in action Oct. 19-24 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Texas Regional in Fort Worth.
