RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Athletic Department is taking a look back at a historic calendar year through a series of stories titled, "Year In Review."
This is the sixth installment of the series which has reviewed UTRGV's

In April, UTRGV Athletics announced a collaboration with The Jank to create a sweet, smoked serrano Vaqueros Gourmet BBQ Sauce that debuted at a baseball game in May.
This is UTRGV Athletics' third branded consumable product, along with Los Vaqueros, a blood orange kölsch style ale produced by 5x5 Brewing Co. in Mission, and Vaqueros Especial, a medium roasted jalapeño and chile piquin taco-style salsa produced by Tio Pelon's Salsita, whose founders are from McAllen.
