RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics learned on Tuesday that the men's and women's soccer programs combined to have eight representatives on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2025 men's and women's soccer CSC Academic All-District teams.
Senior
Sora Noda and junior
Eduardo de Oliveira represented the men's team while graduate students
Abbie Baileyand
Savannah Frisby, and juniors
Yiselle Bernal,
Emilia Compian,
Linnea Eld and
Lisa Elowsson represented the women's team.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least a 3.50 and must have competed in 90 percent of the institutions matches or must start in at least 66 percent of the contests.
De Oliveira played in all 10 matches while making nine starts. De Oliveira led the Vaqueros in points (10) and goals (5). Noda played in all 10 matches this season making five starts along the way. Noda finished with an assist against Grand Canyon.
Bailey played and started in 17 matches this season while playing the full 90 minutes in 16 of those matches. Frisby played in 16 matches while making 14 starts as she led the Vaqueros in points (13), goals (6), and shots (32).
Bernal played and started in all 18 matches and led the team in assists (5) and was third in points (9) with two goals. Compian played in 17 matches and started all in goal as she finished with 49 saves, .700 save percentage, and recorded four shutouts. Eld also played and started in all 18 matches while finishing fourth on the team in points (8) with two goals and four assists. Elowsson played in all 18 matches while making 16 starts as she finished second on the team in points (12) and goals (5).
