SUGAR LAND – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's golf team posted their best round of the Riverbend Intercollegiate improving by 10 strokes on Tuesday at Riverbend Country Club.  
 
After posting a second round 308, the Vaqueros posted a final round 298 to finish tied for seventh with a three-round score of 910. UTRGV finished tied with Odessa College and finished just five strokes out of the top-five. 
 
Sophomore Natalia Rodriguez finished tied for 15^th with a three-round score of 225 after posting a final round 76. Sophomore Preston Saiz posted her best round with a final round 75 as she finished tied for 21^st with a three-round score of 227. 
 
Junior Jackie Howard Gonzalez improved by seven strokes with a final round 73 finishing tied for 27^th with a three-round score of 229. Freshman Kieli Saenz finished tied for 39^th with a three-round score after improving by seven strokes with a final round 74. Senior Cristina Galban tied for 45^th with a three-round score of 234 after posting a final round 81. 
 
Houston won the team title with a three-round score of 858 after a final round 285. Houston's Moa Svedenskiold won the individual title with a three-round score of 206 with a final round 69. 
 
The Vaqueros will have some time off before returning to action at The "Mo" Morial Invitational from April 7-8 at the Traditions Golf Club.
