LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros swimming & diving program is hitting the road for their regular season finale in a two-day meet against Little Rock that will run on Friday and Saturday at Donaghey Aquatic Center.
Due to the cancellation of their dual meet at North Texas last weekend, the Vaqueros last competition was their spring opener against New Mexico State on Jan. 10.
In that meet, sophomore
Annaleagh Stahl shined with a hat trick, earning wins in the 100 backstroke (57.90), 200 backstroke (2:04.30), and the 200 individual medley (2:12.92).
Meanwhile, sophomore
Manou Meulebeek earned the only other win for the Vaqueros on the 3-meter springboard, scoring 301.05.
This will be the first dual meet between UTRGV and Little Rock. However, both teams did square off at the Rice Fall Splash earlier this season. In that invitational, the Vaqueros placed third with a team score of 492 while the Trojans placed second with a score of 621.
The meet will start at 4 p.m. on Friday and resume at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. This will be the final tune-up for the Vaqueros before hosting the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimming & Diving Championships at the City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium from Feb. 25-28.
