NEW BRAUNFELS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's golf team finished in fifth place to wrap up the Texas State Invitational on Tuesday at Landa Park Golf Course. 
 
The Vaqueros posted a final round 308 to finish with a three-round score of 903. UTRGV finished ahead of UIW, Creighton, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, East Texas A&M, Lamar, West Texas A&M, Loyola Chicago, UT Dallas, Prairie View A&M, and Stephen F. Austin.
 
Sophomore Zoe Hobbs paced the Vaqueros as she finished tied for 15^th with a three-round score of 222 after posting a final round even par 72. Junior Natalia Rodriguez finished tied for 22^nd with a three-round score of 224 after posting a final round 78. 
 
Sophomore Miriam Barcalova finished tied for 28^th with a three-round score of 226 after carding a final round 78. Sophomore Pitchayapa Pungpho finished tied for 46^th with a three-round score of 233 after posting a final round 82. 
 
Sophomore Kieli Saenz, who was playing as an individual, finished tied for 50^th with a three-round score of 234 after a final round 81. Senior Cristina Galban finished in 78^th with a three-round score of 247 after a final round 80. 
 
Texas State won the team title with a three-round score of 846 after posting a final round 276. Tarleton's Louise Depadt won the individual title with a three-round score of 205 after posting a final round 71. 
 
The Vaqueros will be back in action from Feb. 17-18 at the Islanders Classic at Corpus Christi Country Club.
