RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros track & field senior Nayla Harris lowered her program, Southland Conference (SLC) and personal record time to 7.16 Friday to secure an automatic bid into the final of the women's 60-meter dash at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. 
 
Harris took second in her heat and will be the No. 4 qualifier in the final. She was one of three runners to clock in at 7.16 and will be in the fourth lane for Saturday's final at 4:30 p.m. back at the Randal Tyson Track Center. 
 
Harris is one of two competitors not from a Power 4 institution to advance to finals.
