RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team dropped the series finale to the New Orleans Privateers 13-6 on Sunday at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.

Julius Ramirez launched a 440' home run off
Bryson Goff (2-1) in the first, a three-run shot, to put the Vaqueros (7-9, 2-4 SLC) up 3-0.
The Privateers (7-9, 2-4 SLC) scored the next 12 runs, but in the sixth, junior
Armani Raygoza led off with a 455' home run. Then, with two on and two out, junior
Ethan Edinger hit a two-run double to bring the Vaqueros within 12-6.
Ramirez and Raygoza each finished 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and two runs scored. Ramirez drove-in three runs.
The Privateers tied the game at 3 against sophomore
Mason Engel (0-1) in the third, as
Eli Tidwell hit a solo home run and Smith hit a two-run home run.
The Privateers sent 11 batters to the plate while scoring five runs in the fourth. With runners at second and third and nobody out, Tidwell laid down a bunt. The throw to the plate was not in time, scoring a run.
Kareh Valentin followed with an infield RBI-single and then
Evan Rogers hit a two-run single.
Dylan Biddick doubled, and one out later,
Adrian Dominguez hit an RBI-single to put the Privateers up 8-3.
Tidwell hit another home run, a two-run shot, to put the Privateers up 10-3 in the fifth.
Eddie Castillo hit a two-run home run in the sixth to give the Privateers a 12-3 lead.
The Privateers added one in the seventh on a two-out RBI-single by
Owen Smith, making the score 13-6.
UTRGV embarks on a nine-game road trip start ingTuesday at 6 p.m. at Louisiana. Fans can listen online via the
