RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The Southland Conference announced on Monday that junior first baseman Armani Raygoza of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team is the Southland Conference Co-Hitter of the Week.
 
While leading the Vaqueros to a 4-1 record, Raygoza hit .444/.583/.944, going 8-for-18 with three home runs, six walks, five RBI, and seven runs scored. He only struck out once while playing flawless defense.
 
Raygoza's best game of the week was Friday, when he posted his fourth-career four-hit game and third-career multi-home run game by going 4-for-5 with two home runs, a season-high four RBI, and two runs scored in a 10-0, 8-inning victory over New Orleans. His second home run ended the game.
 
Raygoza now has 30-career home runs, one shy of the program record of 31 held by Brandon Pimentel (2022-23).
