Men's Golf Finishes Tied for 12th at Tiger Intercollegiate

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team wrapped up play at the Tiger Intercollegiate finishing tied for 12^th on Tuesday at The Club at Old Hawthorne.

The Vaqueros wrapped up their second round early Tuesday morning with a 293 before posting a final round 299 as they finished tied with Illinois State with a three-round score of 873.

Freshman Jorge Martin Sampedro and junior Esteban Gonzalez finished tied for 35^th with three-round scores of 216. Sampedro finished the second round with an even par 70 before posting a final round 76 while Gonzalez turned in a second round 74 and then shaved off three strokes with a final round one-over par 71.

Junior Rodolphe Cicala finished tied for 51^st with a three-round score of 218 after posting a second round 73 and then carded a final round 76. Freshman Brock Porter finished tied for 76^th with a three-round score of 224 as he posted a second round 76 and a final round 77. Sophomore Gabriel Dulon Villoslada finished tied for 81^st with a three-round score of 226 after posting back-to-back rounds of 76.

Host Missouri won the team title with a three-round score of 833 while Missouri's Veikka Viskari won the individual title with a three-round score of 204.

The Vaqueros will be back in action April 20-22 when they compete at the Southland Conference Championships at Comanche Trace in Kerrville.
