2012 Season • Redshirt Senior
Outdoor – Competed in eight meets … Recorded career-high toss of 14.33 meters in the shot put while finishing sixth at Great West Conference Championships. Also finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.63 meters and sixth in the discus throw with a mark of 43.44 meters … Came in third in hammer throw at CSULA Twilight Open with toss of 54.03 meters … Won hammer throw at Trinity Alumni Classic with career-best mark of 57.19 meters … Recorded season-best discus throw of 44.90 meters to finish seventh at Texas State Invitational while also coming in fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 53.48 meters and ninth in the shot put with a mark of 13.11 meters … Took third in the hammer throw at the Cactus Cup with a mark of 51.25 meters.
 
2011 Season • Senior
Indoor – competed in three meets during the indoor season … finished 14th in the weight throw at the Houston Invitational with a throw of 15.69 meters ... placed second in the weight throw at the UH All-Comers Meet with a throw of 16.13 meters … took first place in  the weight throw with a mark of 16.78 meters and also placed ninth in the shot put with a toss of 13.72 meters at the Great West Conference Indoor Championships.
 
Outdoor – Barrera redshirted the outdoor season.
 
2010 Season • Junior
Indoor – competed in three meets during the indoor season … also placed fifth at the Houston All-Comers in the weight throw after tossing a distance of 15.38 meters ... placed 15th at the Houston Invitational in the weight throw with a throw of 14.60m ... had his best finish at the Great West Conference Indoor Championships, where he placed third in the weight throw with a distance of 52-1.25 feet.
 
Outdoor – competed in six meets during the outdoor season … seven top 10 finishes … finished first in the hammer throw (47.77m) at the Cactus Cup and third in the discus (41.54m) … placed seventh in the hammer throw at the Victor Lopez Classic with a throw of 46.77 meters … threw the discus a distance of 41.86 meters at the Michael Johnson Invitational, which placed him ninth … also finished ninth in the hammer throw at the Texas Invite with a distance of 48.85 meters ... was crowned Great West Conference Champion in the hammer throw with a throw of 51.58 meters and finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 45.28 meters.
 
2009 Season • Sophomore
Indoor – competed in four meets during the indoor season…posted his best finish in the weigh throw at conference with a third-place performance with a throw of 52-10m … recorded a 41-9.75m in the shot put, for a career best, at the Great West Indoor Championships.
 
Outdoor – collected 12 top 10 finishes, including a first-place finish in the discus at the UTEP Invitational with a toss of 143-5.6 (43.73m)…competed in six meets during the outdoor season … finished second in the discus and hammer throw at the Cactus Cup with throws of 137-1 and 147-9, respectively … threw a career best 157-1.4 in the hammer throw at the UTEP Invitational … placed seventh at conference in the shot put with a throw of 42-8.5 (13.02m), for another career best …placed fifth in the hammer throw at the Texas Twilight with a throw of 147-10 (45.06m) … earned Bronc Pride 3.0 honors during the fall.
 
2008 Season • Freshman
Indoor – competed in four meets during the indoor season …posted his best finish in the weight throw at conference with a third-place performance with a throw of 52-10 … recorded a 41-9.75 in the shot put, for a career best, at the Great West Indoor Championships.
