Sanchez earned three letters in basketball at Mary Carroll High School, where he made the All-District Team two years and was recognized All-South Texas Team He averaged 30 points per game and holds the school record for most three pointers in one season. Sanchez was ranked 23rd in the state of Texas for three-point shooting in the 2009-10 season.
