2005 [Junior Season]
As a junior, Alamia played in more games than anyone else on the Bronc roster... led the Broncs in multiple offensive categories, including batting average, runs scored, at-bats, hits, total bases and slugging percentage... broke the program record for career hits when he tripled against Dallas Baptist (Apr. 28) for his 194th career base hit... is currently tied for first on the career list for triples with 10 and is fifth all-time in runs with 120... set a personal career-high in runs scored and hits... was named a first team All-Independent selection... recorded a five-hit performance against Dallas Baptist (Apr. 16) matching a career-high... was named to the TCL All-Star team for the second straight summer... was selected to the Texas Collegiate All-League team at the conclusion of the 2005 summer season.
2004 [Sophomore Season]
Last season, Alamia started in all 49 games... finished the year third on the team with a batting average of .324... reached base safely in 59 consecutive games dating back to the previous season... had 59 hits on the season, including six doubles... led the team with five triples, four home runs and 28 runs batted in... cited as an All-Independent second team selection... had multiple hits in 14 contests, including his season-high four hits against Oral Roberts (Mar. 20)... drilled a pair of home runs at Dallas Baptist (Mar. 26)... recorded a career-best two doubles against Lamar (Feb. 15)... went on a 21-game hitting streak during the 2004 season to follow-up a 22-game hitting streak from the season prior... seven of the 21 games during that stretch were multiple-hit games... ranks fourth in the UTPA record books in career triples with eight... hit five of those triples during 2004 to rank fourth in the single-season record books... played in the Texas Collegiate League this past summer for the McKinney Marshals... helped McKinney capture the Tris Speaker Divisional Championship... finished second on the summer squad in hitting with a .317 batting average, collecting 51 hits in 161 at-bats... finished with a team-high 12 doubles, 10 stolen bases and 38 runs scored... landed a starting spot on the Grey Team of the TCL All-Star Game and knocked home the game-winning run in that game... was selected as one of the top 52 prospects selected to play in the Texas Collegiate League[apos]s Futures game.
2003 [Freshman Season]
Alamia became the first Freshman All-American at UTPA when he was honored by Collegiate Baseball during the 2003 campaign... received second team All-Independent honors... recorded a single-season batting average of .382, which ranks ninth on the all-time list... went on a 22-game hitting streak to tie the career record set by Joe Hernandez in 1975... hit .418 (23-55) with runners in scoring position... scored three runs on two occasions against Iona (Mar. 16) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (Apr. 1)... recorded five hits against Oral Roberts (Apr. 11), which were two hits shy of the single-game record of seven... drove in four runs against Texas-San Antonio (Apr. 23)... reached base safely in 32 consecutive games and 45 of the 50 games in which he played.
Edinburg North High School - Playing under former Bronc, Mike Duffey, Alamia earned all-district honors in each year of his high school experience... batted .522 with 19 runs scored, six triples and 16 RBI despite playing in only 13 games due to an injury... hit four triples in one game... cited as the District 31-5A MVP as a senior... earned all-area honors four times and was twice named All-Rio Grande Valley... listed on two occasions as an All-Bay Area Team... named Male Athlete of the Year by The Monitor as a senior... earned the Academic Athlete Award.... named to the National Honor Roll and the National Honor Society.... earned the Superintendent[apos]s Academic Excellence Award as well as a Texas Scholar.
Personal - Alamia is the son of Louie, Jr. and Marcy Alamia... born Aug. 2, 1983... has one sister, Amy.... majoring in biology.
