2006 Season
Summer - Following her freshman season, Wells qualified for the USA Junior Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, IN, where she finished ninth in the country with a throw of 138-10 in the javelin... selected to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Academic All-American Team... Outdoor - Wells posted one of the best all-around seasons in program history as she broke the program record in the javelin as well as advanced to the NCAA Division I Midwest Regional Championships... finished 14th overall at the regional competition with a distance of 144-2 in the javelin... set a program record in the javelin with a throw of 146-10 at the Houston Invitational... reached the NCAA Provisional Mark required to compete at the regional competition in her debut with the Lady Broncs with a throw of 143-8 at the Border Olympics en route to securing her first individual title... broke the program record in the javelin on three occasions during her first season... finished first overall at the Texas Twilight with a distance of 140-8 in the javelin... earned first-place honors in the javelin with a mark of 138-0 at the ASU/David Noble Relays... finished second overall at the Rice/Bayou Classic with a distance of 142-7 in the javelin... earned third-place laurels with a distance of 146-6 in the javelin at the Texas Invitational... Classroom - Wells was selected to the UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the first time in her career... earned Dean's List Second Honors during the fall semester... was cited with Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors during the fall and spring semesters.

Weslaco High School
A standout at Weslaco High School, Wells earned a total of 15 varsity letters while playing six different sports for the Panthers... selected as the Most Valuable Player at the High Point District Track and Field Meet... helped her prep team capture a district championship during her senior season... competed in the state playoffs in basketball, soccer and softball.

Off the Track
Wells is the daughter of Chuck and Leah Wells... has one brother - Blair - and one sister - Malarie... was born on Feb. 19, 1987... majoring in kinesiology.
