In his freshman season at Eckerd College, Lopez-Heredia helped the Tritons to a 20-5 record, including a 4-2 mark in the Sunshine State Conference... helped Eckerd College reach the semifinals of the Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Championship as he won all three of his singles' matches for the Tritons en route to leading them to a third-place finish... helped the Tritons defeat Presbyterian in the opening round of the NCAA Division ll Championships before falling to Barry University in the regional finals.

Lopez-Heredia put together a stellar career during his prep career at Instituto Celestin Freinet where he was cited as the runner-up for Player of the Year in Central America and the Caribbean during the 2000 season... captured the junior championship in Panama... was a member of the Davis Cup Team as a member of the Republic of Panama for three years... ranked as the number-one player in the Republic of Panama for eight straight years.
