2008 Season
Indoor - Earned a spot in the record books in the high jump for recording a height of 5-2.25 at the Leonard Hilton Memorial... Outdoor - earned a title at the Border Olympics in the high jump with a height of 5-3... finished fourth overall in the high jump at the Texas State Open with a height of 5-2.25... notched a fifth-place finish at the Javelina Invitational with a height of 5-2.25.

Progreso High School
Sarmiento was a stand-out athlete for the Progreso Red Ants... earned four letters in basketball, three in volleyball and two in track and field... made it to 1st team All-District in basketball and volleyball her sophomore and junior seasons... was Newcomer of the Year for volleyball and basketball... was Offensive Player of the Year for basketball and volleyball during her senior campaign... made it to the playoffs for volleyball during the 2005 season... finished in 2nd at state in the high jump.

Sarmiento is the daughter of Ruben and Silvia Sarmiento... has one brother - Michael... born on September 7, 1989... majoring in Accouting.
