Bronc Soccer Team Swings Into its First Home Field Action

EDINBURG - Bruised by playing five games over 225 miles from home, but buoyant from winning four of them, the Bronc soccer team swings into its first home-field action this Saturday and Sunday.

The University of Texas-Pan American entertains Trinity University at 4 p.m. Saturday and Schreiner College at 2 p.m. Sunday.

No admission is charged on the UT Pan American campus field.

"We aren't really in good physical condition," warned Coach Eloy Moran, "but we're hopefully trying to win the next two games, one at a time."

Goalie Fredy Sanguinetti, who has given up just three goals to put the Broncs flying to a 4-1 start, is suffering from an elbow injury sustained in a collision. He also has a knee injury.

Jorge Cavazos and Alector Cardenas, both hobbled by foot injuries, might not play. Jesus Tavarez and Tony Cardenas may sub.

Mohsen Husain, senior from Kuwait City, Kuwait, leads the Broncs with three goals, including the penalty shot doomed strong North Texas, 1-0, in Austin last week.

The Broncs suffered their only loss, 2-1, to Incarnate Word of San Antonio, which won the St. Edward's Tournament. The Broncs came back Sunday to beat host St. Edward's, 2-1, for third place.
