EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's basketball team (0-2) plays its home opener against the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas (2-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.

Doors open at 6.

There will be a pregame rally in the fieldhouse courtyard as CBS 4 is broadcasting it's 5:00 and 6:00 newscasts live from that location to help create a College Game Day type of atmosphere. The organized portion of the rally starts at 6 with free game day t-shirts and popcorn as well as a wittiest poster contest. For more information, click here.

The game will be televised live throughout the state on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, channel 323. Jonah Goldberg handles the play-by-play while Tony Forina offers the color commentary.
