RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday that sophomore Ingridy Foltran, of the volleyball team, is the Massage Envy Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Foltran helped the Vaqueros to a 2-1 record at the North Texas Invite where they picked up wins over Jacksonville (3-0) and host North Texas (3-2). 
 
In the opening match of the tournament, Foltran recorded a career-high 17 kills on .342 hitting with a career-high two aces as. 
 
Foltran followed that up with 11 kills in a sweep of Jacksonville while she also added six digs.
 
In UTRGV's final match of the tournament, Foltran once again posted 11 kills with four digs as the Vaqueros defeated North Texas in five sets. 
 
On the season, Foltran has recorded 39 kills and ranks second on the team with 3.00 kills per set while recording a team-high tying four aces. 
 
The Vaqueros will be back in action on Tuesday when they play their home opener against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as part of the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union, at 6:30 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
