RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Monday the 2023 ITA All-Academic Teams and ITA Scholar-Athletes and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis program was recognized. 
 
The men's team notched a cumulative GPA of 3.52 and was named an ITA All-Academic Team, along with 161 other NCAA Div. I men's tennis programs. 
 
Five Vaqueros boast a 3.5 GPA or better to qualify for ITA Scholar-Athlete status: junior Emilien Burnel, sophomore Borna Devald, freshman Ivo Isquiero, sophomore Sam Whitehead and graduate student Te Kani Williams. 
 
Whitehead and Williams were also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for their commitment to academics as well as athletics.
