EUGENE, Oregon – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) track & field freshman Symoria Adkins competed in the women's 200-meter dash to wrap up the Vaqueros' time at the USA Track & Field Under-20 Outdoor Championships Sunday at Hayward Field.

Adkins clocked in at 24.32 in the first round of the 200-meter dash but did not receive a placing due to disqualification. She also competed in the women's 100-meter hurdles Friday, taking 17^th.

Fellow freshmen Aaron Cooper, Jamari Harts and Jedidiah Udunna competed in various events at the U20 Championships throughout the weekend. Cooper was 13^th in the men's triple jump, Harts was 15^th in the men's 400-meter dash and Udunna finished 13^th in the men's long jump.

Sending four student-athletes at the beginning of their careers to a meet for elite talent speaks volumes to the direction the program is heading under head coach Shareese Hicks, who said she was proud of the Vaqueros for earning the opportunity to participate in this prestigious event.
