RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday that senior Cliff Davis, of the men's basketball team, is the Killers Golf UTRGV Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Davis led the Vaqueros to a 72-60 win over Northern New Mexico after scoring a season-high 21 points and hitting a season-high six threes. Davis also added five rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the win.
 
Davis shot 54% on a season-high seven field goals while shooting 55% from beyond the arc.
 
On the season, Davis leads the team in three-point attempts (79), percentage (38%), and three-pointers made per game (3). Davis is also one of four Vaqueros to score over 10 points per game (10.8).
 
Up next for the Vaqueros is a non-conference matchup against Southern Utah on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Vaqueros will host the College of Biblical Studies at 2 p.m.
