RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's basketball team announced on Thursday that they will hold an open practice for high school coaches on Saturday at 8 a.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse. 
 
Coaches that are interested in attending the open practice must email UTRGV Director of Basketball Operations Adam Howard at adam.howard@utrgv.edu prior to the start of practice.
 
This will be the third open practice for the Vaqueros this week after hosting season ticket holders and faculty and staff.  
 
Coaches will get look how UTRGV Head Basketball Coach Kahil Fennell runs his practice. Coach Fennell enters his second season with the Vaqueros after leading the program to their first winning season since 2018.
 
The Vaqueros are getting ready for their 2025-26 season opener, which is on Nov. 3 at Baylor.
