BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros swimming & diving program opened its two-day road matchup at Bowling Green on Friday at Cooper Pool, trailing 114–33 despite several strong individual swims and a standout finish in the 100 individual medley.
Bowling Green set the pace early with relay depth and a clean sweep of both the 3-meter springboard and the 50 butterfly, but UTRGV continued to show progress in key events as the Vaqueros turned in several competitive swims against the Falcons.
Sophomore
Annaleagh Stahl once again led UTRGV in the pool. Stahl earned the team's highest individual finish of the night, placing second in the 100 individual medley with a 1:02.00, just behind Bowling Green's Samia Becdach. Stahl also added a strong fourth-place finish in the 50 backstroke (27.63), leading all UTRGV swimmers in the event.
Freshman
Dia Henderson continued her emergence as one of UTRGV's top sprinters. Henderson took third in the 50 freestyle with a 25.20, the highest sprint finish of the night for the Vaqueros. She also anchored the 200-medley relay helping the team tie for third place with a time of 1:51.18.
In diving, senior
Delaney Murphy delivered the top result for UTRGV, earning fourth place in the 3-meter springboard with a score of 250.20. Meanwhile, freshman
Samantha Hill followed with a seventh-place finish (230.10).
