BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros swimming & diving program closed out its two-day road meet at Bowling Green on Saturday with a pair of historic performances from freshman Dia Henderson and sophomore Manou Meulebeek but ultimately fell 273-161.

Henderson continued her impressive form by racing to a school-record time in the 50 (24.70) and 100 freestyle (54.04), breaking her previous record. The breakthrough followed her Friday performance capped a weekend that marked her as one of the top sprinters for UTRGV.

On the boards, Meulebeek made program history of her own, breaking her own record on the 1-meter springboard, scoring 309.10 in a polished and composed performance. Her milestone added to a productive showing for the Vaqueros, who collected multiple top-four finishes on both springboards over the two-day meet.

The momentum from Henderson and Meulebeek complemented another strong outing from sophomore Annaleagh Stahl, who continued to shine for the Vaqueros, earning second in the 200 backstroke and 400 individual medley race.

Freshman Jaydy Jay turned in impressive performances in the breaststroke events earning second in the 100 (1:10.28) and 200 (2:15.33).

The Vaqueros now shift their focus toward their next competition as they carry record-breaking momentum into the heart of the season.
