RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday that junior Jalayah Ingram, of the women's basketball team, is the UTRGV Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Ingram scored a team-high 13 points Wednesday when the Vaqueros hosted #2 Texas at Bert Ogden Arena.
 
In addition to her scoring output, Ingram was effective across the board, gathering seven rebounds and collecting five assists while shooting a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe.
 
On the season, Ingram leads the Vaqueros in scoring, averaging 17 points per game, while also leading the team in assists per game (4.3) and steals per game (2.1).
