RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday the 2025 NCAA Div. I Track & Field All-Academic Teams and Athletes. Both the women's and men's teams from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) earned All-Academic Team honors and five student-athletes were named All-Academic Athletes.
From the men's team, sophomore
Keamonie Archie, junior
Aaron Cooper and freshman
Richard Young received All-Academic Athlete distinctions. The throws duo of junior
Hannah Hilding and senior
Efe Latham tabbed women's All-Academic Athlete honors.
UTRGV's women's team posted a 3.38 GPA for the academic year and the men's team had a 3.16 GPA. To be eligible for All-Academic Team honors, the squad must have a 3.0 GPA or higher for the academic year. Earning the All-Academic Athlete nod is dependent on having a 3.25 cumulative GPA or better and finishing in the top 96 of an individual indoor event or top 48 in the East or West in an individual outdoor event.
Archie, Hilding and Latham were previously named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams for their academic and athletic success this season. Additionally, the trio all made the men's and women's Southland Conference (SLC) All-Academic Teams, respectively.
The five All-Academic Athletes were among the program-best eight Vaqueros to qualify for the 2025 NCAA West First Round.
