BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's golf team is tied for sixth place after the first day of the Lady Clerico, hosted by Oral Roberts University, on Monday at Hillcrest Country Club. 
 
The Vaqueros posted back-to-back rounds of 298 for a two-round total of 596, which puts them tied with Drake and two shots out of the top-five. 
 
Sophomore Miriam Barcalova led the Vaqueros on the first day as she carded rounds of even par 72 and a second round 76 for a two-round total of 148. Barcalova is tied for 17^th. 
 
Senior Cristina Galban is tied for 22^nd with a two-round total of 149 after turning in rounds of 75 and 74. Junior Natalia Rodriguez is tied for 26^th with a two-round total of 150 after posting back-to-back rounds of 75. 
 
Junior Preston Saiz opened with a first round 76 before posting a second round 75 for a two-round total of 151 as she is tied for 28^th. Sophomore Pitchayapa Pungpho is tied for 31^st with a two-round total of 152 after posting a first round 78 and improving in the second with a 74. 
 
Abilene Christian holds a one-shot lead after the first day with a two-round total of 581 with rounds of 290 and 291. Abilene Christian's Ryann Honea holds the individual lead with a two-round total of 137 with rounds of 67 and 70.
 
The Vaqueros will be back on the course on Wednesday for the final round starting at 8 a.m.
