Celianiz Cabranes was selected to the Southwest Showdown All-Tournament Team.
The Southwest Showdown is a four-year, rotating tournament between UTRGV, Texas State, UTEP and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The 2025 edition was hosted by the Vaqueros at the UTRGV Fieldhouse Thursday through Saturday. UTEP went 3-0 led by tournament MVP
Kaya Weaver.
Cabranes totaled 28 digs as the Vaqueros battled Texas State and UTEP. She had 11 digs and two assists against Texas State and followed that with 17 digs and two assists against UTEP. Cabranes was speedy covering the court and kept UTRGV in competitive rallies with her defensive efforts.
This is the second consecutive season Cabranes makes the Southwest Showdown All-Tournament Team.
