Prior to UTRGV (Harlingen South): Fonseca was a standout on a Harlingen South team that clinched three consecutive cross country district championships at the 6A and 5A level, placing in the top three as an individual to anchor those titles. As a senior, she was the District 32-5A runner-up, improving on a third-place district finish from 2022. She was the District 32-6A runner-up in 2021. Fonseca tabbed a career-best 12^th-place finish at the Region IV-5A meet in 2022 to punch a ticket to the state cross country meet, where she was 40^th. She also tabbed a fourth-place finish in the Elite division at the RGVCCCA Meet of Champions that season. Fonseca advanced to regionals all four years competing in varsity cross country. In track, Fonseca won the District 32-6A title in 2022 the 1,600-meter run and was the 3,200-meter race’s runner-up, helping her team win the championship. She advanced to the regional meet that season after finishing fourth in the 3,200 at area. She was fifth in the event at the 2022 RGVCA Meet of Champions. Fonseca also medaled in the 3,200 at district in 2021, placing third. Her personal bests are 18:59.7 at the 5,000-meter distance, 5:29.10 in the 1,600, and 11:40 in the 3,200.
