LUBBOCK, Texas – Freshman
Jasmine Davison won women's shot put section B with a mark of 13.11 meters to pace the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's and women's indoor track & field teams in day two of competition at the Texas Tech Invitational.
Davision also finished second in women's weight throw section B with a mark of 14.26 meters.
Judith Chumba finished fifth in the women's 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:43.63, half of one second behind SMU's
Kasja Barr for fourth place.
Sylvia Alboniga finished 11
th in the women's 55-meter hurdles at 8.50q.
On the men's side,
Scott Bann paced the Broncs, finishing third in shot put section B with a mark of 14.82 meters. He also finished sixth in weight throw section A with a mark of 15.49 meters.
Jesus Alvarez placed second in weight throw section B with a mark of 14.53 meters.
Luis Serrano finished sixth in the men's 3,000 meter run with a time of 9:00.02.
Martin Casse finished ninth in the mile run with a time of 4:30.11.

The Broncs return to action on Friday at the Jess Davis Bank Cowboy Indoor Invitational hosted by McNeese State University.
The University of Texas-Pan American Department of Intercollegiate Athletics competes at the NCAA Division I classification. UTPA, formerly known as Pan American College and Pan American University, is a part of the University of Texas System of Schools. The Broncs compete in 14 varsity sports; men's and women's basketball, golf, tennis, track and field, and cross country, along with women's volleyball and men's baseball. In 1963, then known as Pan American College, the Broncs men's basketball program won the NAIA National Championship with a 73-62 victory over Western Carolina. In 2008 UTPA joined the new all-sports division of the Great West Conference.
