EDINBURG – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's tennis team beat the Schreiner University Mountaineers 7-0 on Saturday at the newly renovated Orville Cox Tennis Center.
 
The Broncs (2-9) got of to a quick start, sweeping through doubles as Dana Nazarova and Reegan Greenwood beat Leanna Haynes and Shelby Thompson 8-2 at No. 1, Didi Fatchikova and Wanda Beguelin defeated Karyn Swink and Kelley Spahn 8-0 at No. 2, and
Roma High School alum Julia Perez and Manon Lavrijssen beat Teresa Gaitan and Madeline Scotch 8-3 at No. 3.
 
The Broncs beat the Mountaineers (5-3) in straight sets in all six singles matches, as Fatchikova beat Haynes 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1, Nazarova defeated Thompson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, Beguelin beat Gaitan 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, Lavrijssen defeated Swink 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4, Greenwood beat Spahn 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, and Perez defeated Brooke Ohlman 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
 
The Broncs host Prairie View A&M on Friday, March 22 at 4:00 p.m.
