AZUSA, Calif. – Sophomore Ricardo Mendoza set a new personal record in the 1,500-meter run to lead the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's track and field team at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday at Cougar Stadium.
Mendoza posted a time of 3:52.71 as he surpassed his previous best by almost four seconds. He finished in 152
nd out of 254 total runners.
Mendoza's time currently ranks him third fastest in the Western Athletic Conference.
