SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's track and field distance runner freshman Abraham Chirchir posted a 31^stplace finish in the 10,000-meter run in NCAA Championships West Preliminary Round on Thursday at Hornet Stadium.
 
Chirchir crossed the finish line with a time of 30:02.54 as he finished in 31^stout of 48 total runners. The top 12 moved on to the finals at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon from June 6-9.
