RIO GRANDE VALLEY –The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's golf team announced on Wednesday the addition of
Natalia Rodriguez to the roster for the 2023-24 academic season.
"It is great to have an exciting player like Natalia join our program," UTRGV head coach
Bryan Novoa said. "She has a complete game and international experience that will be a major contributor to our squad the next four years."
Rodriguez, from Cantabria, Spain, recorded a pair of wins in 2022 as she won the Cantabria U18 Regional Championship while also winning the IV Regional of Cantabria. Rodriguez also posted a third place finish at the XXXV Pais Basque Cup, a fourth place finish at the Jaizkibel Championship and finished second at the Golfenomenos Championship.
In 2021, Rodriguez won the U16 Real Federation of Golf Chip and Putt Championship while also winning the V Cantabria Cup, which was a mixture of stroke and match play, and won the Castilla y Leon Women's Championship. Rodriguez also competed at the National Scoring U16 of the Spanish Golf Federation where she finished in 15
