CORPUS CHRISTI – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros volleyball team learned Sunday that junior setter Luanna Emiliano and senior middle blocker Luisa Silva Dos Santos were selected to the Islanders Classic All-Tournament Team. 
 
In two matches at the Dugan Wellness Center, Emiliano recorded two double-doubles as she racked up 91 assists (10.11 assists per set), 37 digs, six kills, three blocks and two aces. She had 46 assists and 16 digs Saturday in a 3-2 win over the hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders in a South Texas Showdown match, presented by Rally Credit Union. On Sunday in a 3-1 loss to Tulane, she had 45 assists and a career-high 21 digs. 
 
Through nine matches this season, Emiliano has accumulated 337 assists for a 9.91 assist/set average, 89 digs for a 2.62 digs/set average, 25 kills, 14 aces and eight blocks. 
 
Santos totaled 26 kills, six blocks, four digs and one ace in two matches at the Islanders Classic. She had 12 kills and five blocks to help UTRGV defeat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and recorded 14 kills on .478 hitting against Tulane. 
 
Santos is tied for the team lead with 83 kills this season, averaging 2.44 kills per set, and has recorded 26 blocks and four service aces. She leads the team with a .408 hitting percentage and is scoring 3.01 points per set. 
 
The Vaqueros will be back in action Tuesday at 12 p.m. for a Kids Day match, presented by Whataburger, against Incarnate Word at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
