Men's Soccer to Host Pair of ID Camps and an Elite Skills Clinic

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's soccer team announced it will be hosting Spring ID Camps on March 16 at Brownsville Sports Park and March 17 at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex, and an Elite Skills Clinic from March 18-21 at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex. 
 
Registration can be completed online at GoUTRGV.com/MSocCamps.
 
Each ID Camp will consist of two sessions with the first session running from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the second session running form 2 to 4 p.m. and will cost $165 for both sessions. ID camps are for high school and junior college players. Registration must be completed by 5 p.m. the day before the start of the ID Camp. 
 
The ID Camps will be focused on players showcasing their abilities and potential to be recruited to the UTRGV men's soccer program. The camp will have the structure of daily training methodology, focusing in the four main elements of the sport in physical, technical, tactical, and mental. 
 
The Elite Skills Clinic is for boys of 8-19 years old and will run from 7 to 8:15 p.m. each day. The Elite Skills Clinic costs $160 for all four days. Registration must be completed by 5 p.m. on March 17.  
 
The Elite Skills Clinic will feature a structured training program developed by UTRGV coaching staff that will be fun and challenging in a safe environment. The clinic will focus on techniques in passing, receiving, dribbling, heading, scanning, communication, balance, and coordination. 
 
The goal is to ensure that campers are being challenged but are also seeing improvement in their technique and ability throughout the clinic.
