BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Sophomore
Jedidiah Udunna broke his own program in the men's long jump Friday as The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros track & field program opened competition at Texas A&M's 44 Farms Team Invitational at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Udunna cleared 7.92 meters on his third attempt, passing his own program best as he finished fourth. The seven best long jumps now belong to the sophomore, along with eight of the top-10 jumps in the record books. Junior
Kevin Washington followed in ninth with a season-best mark of 7.24 meters.
The women's long jumpers were not to be outdone. Junior
Kailah Gilmore led the way with a personal-best mark of 6.00 meters to finish fourth. Sophomore
Aja Johnson also hit a personal record, finishing 12
th with a mark of 5.49 meters.

Hannah Hilding hit her third personal best in as many weeks to finish fourth in the women's discus, tossing 49.42 meters. Freshman McAllen High alum
Adelaide Fleischmann tabbed another top-10 finish, coming in sixth.
Graduate student
Julian Trevino capped the successful first day of field events with a fifth-place finish in men's javelin, launching a personal-best 56.67 meters to claim the No. 3 spot in the program record books.
The 200-meter dashers wasted no time showcasing UTRGV's speed in the early running session, collecting six personal records. Sophomore
Symoria Adkins paced the women with a fifth-place finish in a season-best time of 23.65 to take the No. 2 spot in program history. Junior

th and 16

Jaleel Scott (21.90) both hit personal bests as they finished 23
rd and 28
th, respectively.
The men's 400-meter hurdles trio of junior
Daniel Siaffa and sophomores
Jaylen Critton and
Jaqualand Fields performed well, running personal bests across the board. Siaffa led the way with a third-place finish in 52.39, the seventh-fastest race in program history. Critton followed in fourth with a time of 52.98, claiming No. 8 in program history. Fields rounded things out running 53.76 to finish seventh.

Ricardo Garcia closed the day for UTRGV in the 5,000-meter races. In the women's race, Cruz shaved 14 seconds off her personal best in her 2024 debut, taking eighth in 18:02.34. Garcia was 10
th in the men's race.
UTRGV totaled 15 personal bests and made six entries into the program record books during Day One of the 44 Farms Invitational. The meet wraps up Saturday with field events starting at 3 p.m. and running events starting at 6 p.m. in College Station. Fans can watch on SEC Network+.
