RIO GRANDE VALLEY – Bragging rights at the Orange & Gray Intrasquad Meet were still up for grabs as the swimmers stepped onto the blocks for the final race of the morning, the 200 free relay.
The first two legs remained a deadlock before Orange took a slight lead at the end of the third leg and rode the momentum to the finish. Orange won the meet 120-109.
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) swimming & diving program's Orange & Gray meet kicked off at 9 a.m. with the 200 medley relay that saw Orange pick up their first victory of the morning.
Freshman
Ida Rudelius impressed as she picked up the first individual win of the meet in the 200 freestyle before picking up another in the 100 butterfly, three events later.

Madiana Lofgren picked up back-to-back wins in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle.
Sophomore and Sharyland High alum
Hailey Garcia-Rivas earned two individual wins in the 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly.
In the longest event of the morning, freshman
Annaleagh Stahl picked up her first win in the 500 freestyle before taking the win in the 100 backstroke two events later.

Manou Meulebeek picked up victories in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard to give Gray two event wins.
Sophomore
Olivia Votava picked up an individual win in the 50 breaststroke for Gray while freshman
Diara Aleman took the win in the 100 breaststroke for Orange.
Orange came back from an early deficit winning the final seven swimming events to earn nine total victories while Gray picked up wins in the other five events.
"Today was really good," UTRGV Swimming & Diving Head Coach
Betsy Graham said. "It was great to see them be competitive with each other. I really enjoyed that the meet came down to the last relay and they did a good job going after it."
