WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golfer Rodolphe Cicala posted his second-straight round of three-under 67 to take the individual lead at the JT Poston Invitational on Monday at Waynesville Inn & Country Club. 
 
Cicala has a two-round total of 137 and has a one-shot lead over five others tied for second place. Cicala's 67 was tied for the lowest round of the day and it featured five birdies, an eagle, and nine pars to go along with a pair of bogeys and a double-bogey.
 
Cicala paced the Vaqueros, who improved by three shots as a team with a second round 280. The Vaqueros are in ninth place with a two-round total of 563 and are just one shot behind Virginia Tech for eighth and currently ahead of Abilene Christian, Elon, Morehead State, Lipscomb, Jacksonville, and Francis Marion. 
 
Freshman Jorge Martin Sampedro turned in his second-straight even par 70 as he sits tied for 17^th with a two-round total of 140. Juniors Esteban Gonzalez and Emilio Gil Leyva both improved with a second round 71 as they are tied for 54^thwith a two-round total of 145. 
 
Senior Arthit Kruaprayong is tied for 63^rd with a two-round total of 146 after posting a second round 74 and sophomore Gabriel Dulon Villoslada is tied for 69^th with a two-round total of 147 after a second round 72. 
 
Southern Mississippi took the team lead after posting a second round 276 for a two-round total of 551.
 
The Vaqueros will be back on the course for the final round of the JT Poston Invitational on Tuesday with play starting at 8 a.m.
