CARROLLTON – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team returns to compete at the Maridoe Collegiate, hosted by the University of North Texas, starting on Monday at Maridoe Golf Club.
The 54-hole event will feature 36 holes being played on Monday with the final 18 holes being played on Tuesday. Play will begin each day at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The Maridoe Golf Club plays 7,569 yards and is a par 72.
The Competition
There will be a 13-team field that will feature UTRGV, Alabama, Arizona State, Baylor, Boston College, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Sam Houston, UNCG, and host North Texas.

Last Time Out
The Vaqueros finished in 10
th place at the All-American Invitational, hosted by University of Houston, after posting a three-round score of 918 with rounds of 315, 305, and 298.
Rodolphe Cicala led the Vaqueros with a three-round score of 227 to finish tied for 19
th after turning in rounds of 80, 75, and 72.
Jorge Martin Sampedro and
Gabriel Dulon Villoslada tied for 30
th with three-round scores of 230. Sampedro posted rounds of 77, 78, and 75 while Villoslada carded rounds of 79, 74, and 77.
Arthit Kruaprayong and
Esteban Gonzalez tied for 68
th after posting three-round scores of 239 as Kruaprayong posted rounds of 83, 78, and 78 while Gonzalez turned in rounds of 79, 86, and 74.
Brock Porter, Luis Limón, and
Emilio Gil Leyva all competed in an individual tournament. Porter finished in eighth place with a three-round score of 232 with rounds of 79, 79, and 74. Limón finished tied for 13
th with a three-round score of 236 with rounds of 84, 78, and 74 while Leyva finished tied for 25
th with a three-round score of 242 with rounds of 86, 75, and 81.
Last Time at Maridoe Collegiate
UTRGV finished in 13
th place in last year's Maridoe Collegiate after posting a three-round score of 924 with rounds of 311, 306, and 307. Oklahoma won the team title with a three-round score of 857.
Arthit Kruaprayong finished tied for 42
nd with a three-round score of 230 with rounds of 76, 82, and 72.
Taj Sutherland finished tied for 53
rd with a three-round score of 231 with rounds of 74, 75, and 82.
Esteban Gonzalez and
Emilio Gil Leyva finished tied for 65
th with three-round scores of 235. Gonzalez posted rounds of 82, 74, and 79 while Leyva turned in rounds of 82, 79, and 74. Luis Limón finished tied for 71
st with a three-round score of 239 with rounds of 79, 78, and 82 while
Eddie Lai finished tied for 64
th with a three-round score of 234 with rounds of 83, 76, and 75.
Oklahoma's Jase Summy won the individual title with a three-round score of 210.
