COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team is set to compete at the Tiger Intercollegiate starting on Monday at The Club at Old Hawthorne in their final tuneup before the Southland Conference Championships.
The 54-hole event will feature 36 holes being played on Monday with the final 18 holes being played on Tuesday. Play will begin each day at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The Club at Old Hawthorne plays 7,158 yards and is a par 70.
The Competition
There will be a 19-team field that will feature UTRGV, host Missouri, Central Arkansas, Central Michigan, Drake, Illinois State, Iowa State, Kansas, Lamar, Missouri State, Nebraska, Oral Roberts, Saint Mary's, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Tarleton, UTSA, Wichita State, and Xavier.

The Vaqueros finished in seventh place at the Maridoe Collegiate where they posted a three-round score of 914 after posting rounds of 304, 299, and 311. UTRGV improved its finish from the previous year by six spots after finishing in 13
th.
Jorge Martin Sampedro led the way for the Vaqueros as he posted his third top-10 finish of the spring coming in tied for eighth place. Sampedro posted a three-round score of 220 with rounds of 78, 70, and 72 finishing ahead of six golfers that were ranked inside the top 100 of the Scoreboard rankings.
Rodolphe Cicala finished tied for 36
th with a three-round score of 232 after posting rounds of 72, 81, and 79.
Gabriel Dulon Villoslada tied for 42
nd with a three-round score of 233 with rounds of 76, 74, and 83.
Brock Porter finished tied for 54
th with a three-round score of 236 with rounds of 78, 80, and 78.
Esteban Gonzalez finished in 60
th with a three-round score of 238 after posting rounds of 81, 75, and 82.
Last Time at Tiger Intercollegiate
UTRGV finished tied for 11
th in last year's Tiger Intercollegiate as they posted a three-round score of 875. The Vaqueros posted rounds of 296, 296, and 283.
Arthit Kruaprayong finished tied for 16
th with a three-round score of 215 after posting rounds of 73, 72, and 70.
Esteban Gonzalez finished tied for 26
th with a three-round score of 217 with rounds of 74, 73, and 70.
Taj Sutherland finished tied for 40
th with a three-round score of 219 after posting rounds of 73, 72, and 74.
Emilio Gil Leyva finished tied for 80
th with a three-round score of 227 after carding rounds of 79, 79, and 69 while Luis Limón finished in 99
th.
Missouri won the team title with a three-round score of 840 while St. Mary's finished in second with a three-round score of 840 and Nebraska finished in third with a three-round score of 854.
Missouri's Mattias Varjun won the individual title with a three-round score of 206 after posting rounds of 70, 70, and 66.
