UTRGV Athletics Elevates Adam Alvarado to Corporate Partnerships Coordinator

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday the elevation of former graduate assistant Adam Alvarado to Corporate Partnerships Coordinator.

As a graduate assistant, Alvarado primarily assisted with the ticket team in the fall of 2025, helping UTRGV through its inaugural football season and ran the ticket operations at all UTRGV soccer matches and swimming & diving meets. In addition, Alvarado helped supervise, train, and schedule over 50 student workers, assisted in football season ticket renewals, and oversaw all sales and fulfillment for the Junior Vaqueros Club. Alvarado was a main contributor to the overall ticketing success that UTRGV saw in the 2025-26 athletic year, which was named a finalist for the National Association of Athletic Ticket Sales and Operations Ticket Team of the Year.

In the spring, Alvarado started working with the corporate partnerships team where he wrote contracts, created recap presentations for sponsors, drafted proposals for current and prospective corporate partners, coordinated meetings, and assisted with corporate asset tracking and sponsorship fulfillment.

"We're excited to have Adam continue his journey with UTRGV Athletics as our new Corporate Partnerships Coordinator," Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief Revenue Officer Derek Schramm said. "We look forward to him continuing to grow in this new role and the positive impact he will have on our department as he works closely with our corporate partners."

Prior to working with UTRGV Athletics, Alvarado served as a student employee for the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) Athletics. While completing his undergraduate degree, Alvarado assisted with the UTSA Athletics development team, Roadrunner Athletic Fund, and was a recruiting assistant for UTSA Football across his two years with the Roadrunners. He also worked with the UTSA Campus Recreation as a sports program supervisor for three years.

"I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and excited to take the next step in my career," Alvarado said. "I want to thank [Senior Vice President and Director of Athletics] Chasse Conque and Derek Schramm for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to come back home and be a part of history here at UTRGV. I also want to thank [Chief of Staff/Associate Athletic Director for Development] Eddie Galvan, [Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Sales and Operations] Nicholas Swanson, [Assistant Director of Ticket Sales and Operations] Daniel Keefe, and the rest of the Revenue Generation team for their leadership and support."

Alvarado, a McAllen native, has also volunteered at the 2025 NCAA Final Four, worked with the San Antonio Brahmas Gameday Communications Team, and worked with the McAllen Parks and Recreation as a summer track coach.

Alvarado earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from UTSA in the summer of 2025 and is currently working towards his Master of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Management.
