With a handicap of three and a high school stroke average of 75 Garcia promises to make an immediate impact on the Broncs this season... Garcia was making strides in his first season as a collegiate golfer until a wrist injury kept Garcia in the clubhouse for the latter part of the fall. 

Fall 1999: Was the top finisher on the team in just his second tournament as a Bronc, taking 33rd place with a 230 (10/5)... Finished second on the team with a three-round total of 238, including a 74 in the first round of the Tulsa Southern Hills invite. (10/12). 

Personal: Ramiro is the son of Ramiro and Norma Garza Garcia... Garcia had strong showings at the several tournaments last year including the District Championships as well as the Laredo and the Kingsville Invitationals... While at Zapata HS Garcia was a four time All District selection and four time regional qualifier... Garcia also graduated in the top 10% of his class.
