Made a huge impact in his first season in Edinburg... He was ranked number one in the nation in earned run average at midseason and eventually finished 16th in the nation with 2.35 average.

2002 (Junior season): The Broncs work horse, making a team-high 24 appearances... Tied for the team lead with six wins and was the Broncs leader in saves with six... That total tied the UTPA school record for saves in a season and ranks him fourth all-time in career saves... Struggled in his first outing of the season, allowing four runs two which were earned against Louisiana-Monroe (2/5)... But went on a tear after that, going 35 innings before allowing another run, against UT-San Antonio (4/5)... His ERA had dipped to 0.45, which was the best in the nation at that time... Had a season high seven strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings of work against Centenary (3/18)... Finished the season strong as well, allowing no runs in his last three appearances... His longest outing of the season of the season came against Southwest Texas State, in which he allowed three hits and one walk in five innings of work to pick up his third win of the season (2/29).

Lassen Junior College: Fowler posted a 1-1 record with four saves and complied an ERA of 0.38 in 20 innings pitched... Fowler struck out 26 while only walking four.

Kent Meridian High School: In his senior campaign at Kent Meridian High School, Fowler was 5-1 on the hill with a 2.35 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 34 innings.

Personal: Scott is the son of Pat and Debbie Fowler...born on September 19, 1978... major general studies at UTPA.
