A strong hitter and fielder who gained valuable experience, helping Weimar High School to two state championships... Red-shirted last season, but will add depth for the Broncs in the infield... Also a strong student, Kutac was named to the UTPA Athletic Directors Honor for the 1999-2000 academic year.

2000 (Redshirted Freshman Season): Saw limited action, playing behind two senior third baseman... Saw action in six games at third base for UTPA... Had six plate appearances, picking up on hit... His lone hit of the season was a single against Western Illinois (3/7)... He also had his only RBI of the season in that game... Had a perfect fielding percentage in limited action.

1999 (Freshman Season): Red-shirted.

Weimar High School: At Weimar High School, Kutac was a career .360 hitter racking up 110 RBI... In his senior season, Matt batted .462 with five home runs, 52 RBI, 16 doubles, and 11 stolen bases... A unanimous choice as All-District shortstop, Kutac was also a two-time all-area infielder... In both 1996 and 1997, Kuatc  led Weimar High School to back-to-back Texas 2AA State Baseball Championships.

Personal: Kutac is the son of Alton and Cythia Jane Kutac... born on May 21, 1980 in Houston, Texas... majoring in finance major at UTPA.
