Had a strong first season with the Broncs and looks to continue to improve in his final season with the Broncs... Coming off a strong fall season for UTPA... Tied for the team lead in wins last season... A lefthander who attended Grayson Junior College where he gained valuable experience.

2000 (Junior Season): Joined the staff and made an immediate impact, going 62 overall with complete game...Was third on the team in innings pitched with 71.2... Had 40 strikeouts for the season... Had probably his best outing of the season against Illinois, going 7 1/3 innings, allowing just one earned run on five hits, while striking out four (2/27)... The game went into extra innings and Garcia took a no-decision... Limited UT-San Antonio to just one unearned run in seven innings of work (4/18)...  Was hot at the right time, winning his last four starts of the season... Went six innings , allowing just one run on four hits against St. Marys' (4/29)... Had a season-high seven strikeouts in the season-opener against Louisiana-Monroe in six innings of work (2/6).

Grayson Junior College: Garcia was 4-1 with a 3.81 ERA FOR THE 1990 Junior College World Series Champions.

Tascosa High School: During his career at Tascosa High School in Amarillo, Garcia complied a 18-6 record with a 4.22 ERA and over 200 strikeouts... Garcia was an All-District selection after his junior season.

Personal: Garcia is the son of John Rameriz and Rachel Ann Garcia... born on December 29, 1977, in Amarillo, Texas... In 1995 and 1996 Garcia was a member of the Dallas Mustangs, going 11-2 in 1995 and 6-3 in 1996... major in general studies.
