RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's golf team announced on Wednesday the addition of
Sebastian Lundberg to the roster for the 2020-21 academic year.
"Sebastian is experienced and proven," UTRGV head coach
Philip Tate said. "He will add strength to our competitive team. We are excited to add him to our UTRGV family."
Lundberg comes to UTRGV after spending his freshman season at Concordia University in Oregon. Lundberg posted a 74.07 stroke average while posing a career-low four-under par 68 in the first round of the Bay Invitational while also helping his team to a tournament win at the Western Washington Invitational.
Originally from Jonstorp, Sweden, Lundberg attended Kullagymnasiet and competed in professional tours as an amateur competing in the Swedish Golf Tour and Future Series. Lundberg also competed on the Teen Tour and in the Junior Master Invitational.
Lindberg posted three top-10 finishes out of his five junior tournaments in the summer of 2019.
Lindberg joins
Leonardo Novella as part of this year's signing class.
