DALLAS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team is tied for 15^th after the first day of the Trinity Forrest Invitational on Sunday at Trinity Forest Golf Course. 
 
The Vaqueros posted a first round 300 as they are tied with Cal Poly and two shots behind Louisiana. 
 
Sophomore Gabriel Dulon Villoslada led the way for the Vaqueros as he carded a first round one-over par 73 and is tied for 42^nd. Junior Esteban Gonzalez is tied for 49^th after a first round two-over par 74. 
 
Junior Rodolphe Cicala is tied for 56^th after a first round 75, freshman Brock Porter is tied for 78^th with a first round 78, and freshman Jorge Martin Sampedro is tied for 86^th with a first round 80. 
 
USC and Baylor hold a share of the lead after posting rounds of 279. Furman's Clark Akers holds the individual lead with a first round 64. 
 
The Vaqueros will be back at it tomorrow for the second round of the Trinity Forest Invitational with the first group teeing off at 9 a.m.
